Welcome to Season 2022/23

In early September as the days get longer, the sun warmer and the footy finals begin, its time to start thinking about cricket! We have much to look forward to this season with the return to a normal season, with two day cricket, afternoon teas and unrestricted social activities.

The club welcomes back Shakeem Clarke this season, a terrific player and a fantastic person to have at the club, Shak will also be joined by his good mate Carlos Maynard who will Captain our First X1. PEGSCC is fortunate to have players and people of such high quality to lead the club and we are greatly looking forward to their positive impact on the club.

On the subject of high quality people and players Pishan Hewage and his young family will also be at the club again this season and we expect the two day format will suit Pishan and his skill-set. Ruvin Peiris will also again be making the trip up from Geelong, where he studies, to play with us and is sure to benefit from a full season, and being surrounded by the quality that we have suiting up for us this year. 

Finally and most importantly, we have a great group of emerging young cricketers, who will not only benefit from being surrounded by the men mentioned above, but who have all had the opportunity to play in our 1 st XI, and in some cases gain leadership experience over the past two seasons, who are ready to take the next step in their development.

We have a great deal to look forward to in the upcoming season and I look forward to seeing you all at training and socially over the next few weeks, as we approach what should be a successful season.
